19 Jan Nicholas Winistorfer

Nicholas F. Winistorfer (Nick or Barney to his friends) died Sunday, Jan. 17 at age 83 after a fierce battle with mesothelioma and leukemia.

He was born Dec. 4, 1937 to Nicholas and Priscilla (Schlener) Winistorfer.  His parents, wife JoAnn, and sister Sandra preceded him in death.

He leaves behind his children, Wendy (Dale) Sanderson, Nicholas Scott (Raquel) Winistorfer, and Shane (Jodi) Winistorfer; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sister Sharon (Chuck) Gonzales; special friend Mary Smith; and fishing buddy Bob Fagerstrom.

There will be no funeral, but a scattering party will take place in the spring at The Dam Bar in Pick City, ND.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Nick’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, his favorite charity.
