Michael John Hickey, who many of you know as Mike has left us all with heavy hearts. Michael was born on May 31st 1953 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Michael passed away on August 6, 2023, in the comfort of his home in Bismarck, North Dakota.

A memorial service to honor Michael’s life will be held on August 26, 2023, at 10:30 am at Bismarck Funeral Home.  Anyone who knew Michael is welcome to attend the service to celebrate Michael’s life and pay respects to him and his family.

Michael lived in St Paul, Minnesota, Chicago, Illinois, and settled in Bismarck, North Dakota with his wife, Mary Ellen. Michael and Mary joined in marriage on November 23, 1991.  Michael graduated from White Bear Lake High School and played soccer throughout his school years.  He then attended the University of Minnesota with interest in bio/chemistry.  He spent his adult career employed by Sears Roebuck and in his later years worked at Hawktree Golf Course.  Michael loved playing golf but Tim says, “he can’t hit the ball as far as him.”  Michael was a ride or die Minnesota Vikings fan hoo-rah!

Michael will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary (North Dakota), Brothers; Tim (Minnesota), Terry Hickey (Minnesota), Peter Hickey (Florida); Sisters, Colleen Schindele (Arizona), Son, John Hickey (Illinois), Step- Daughter, Vanessa Briltz (Saskatchewan), Granddaughter, Hailey Briltz (Saskatchewan), and many nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Hickey and father, John Hickey formerly of Naples, Florida.  May Michael’s memory be forever in our hearts.  Forever young.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.  Psalm 23:6

Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love.  Lamentations 3:32
