Michael Paul Babcock, 46, Bismarck ND passed away April 27, 2023 in a Bismarck hospital. Cremation has taken place.

Michael was born August 9, 1976 in St Alexis Medical Center. He attended Bismarck Public Schools and graduated in 1994.

One of the things Mike loved was BMX bike racing. He started racing when he was 7 yrs old and raced until he was 15. He raced the Bismarck track before it became part of Century High’s parking lot. He traveled to race at the tracks in Jamestown and Fargo also.

He traveled to race National races in Rockport Il, Janesville Wi, Casper WY and Aberdeen SD. He earned medals and trophies for his participation and points for his wins; even becoming the state champion in his class and age group. Needless to say he became quite accomplished racer, and the family enjoyed the traveling.

Another love was his 1970 Chevelle. He drove it to school and work when he was 16 and 17. The first time he drove it to work, he was rear ended on his way home from work. Not a good start to his first job.  While Mike was not employed as of late, his employment experience consisted of construction, roofing, house painting, brick laying, auto body and sheet metal.

Mike leaves his parents, Nick and Linda Babcock, his sister Melanie (Jeff) Wilson; nephews Parker (Layn) and Jackson Wilson; great nephew Remi Wilson; his much loved daughter, Kyla; and his special love, Devone, all of Bismarck, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Also missing Mike are his feline buddies, Min and Hope.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Frances Babcock, Bismarck; and Joseph and Genevieve Bosch, Linton ND; uncles Jerome Bosch and Darryl Kunz; aunt Mary Herrmann; and cousin Brad Bosch.

In lieu of flowers etc, donations can be made to any local animal shelters.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on May 31, 2023 at the Sertoma Park Community Room, 300 Riverside Park Drive, Bismarck ND from 4:30 to 7:30 pm.

Go rest high on that mountain, Son your time on earth is done….

Nick and Linda and family, so sorry to hear about Mike, I’m thinking 0f you Durning this difficult time. I want to express my deepest condolences; Mike had an amazing smile. Always so polite and kind to me, My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Linda, Nick, Kyla & Melanie, I hope it will be of some comfort to know at this difficult time, that Nathan and I will always, always, always, be praying for Michael. Someday with outstretched wings and the strength of an eagle he will fly unto the glory of God. The memory of him will never be forgotten. He was a very kind man, whenever he came to visit Nathan, he would find me, with open arms “bend down” and give me literally a big hug. May he rest in eternal peace, remember he is only a breath away and forever in our hearts. God bless you all.
With sincere sympathy,
