Mary Maier, 74, New Salem, passed away April 12. 2024 at Elm Crest Nursing Home.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 11:00am at the Bismarck Funeral Home.  Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Mary Maier was born on February 21, 1950 to Richard and Doris (Langshaw) Maier.  She worked as a key puncher for the North Dakota motor vehicle department for many years and went on to work in the mailroom for the highway department until her retirement.  After retirement, Mary lived with her parents and helped care for her mother who had Parkinson’s disease.  She also took care of her father until his death.

Mary enjoyed reading, doing word finds and working in her parents flower garden. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her sisters, Donna (Chris) Frey, Debbie Koch, Phyllis Maier, Janet (Brian) Wallace and Patty Behm; brother, Philip Maier as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Amy Lily.
