Margo Spear, 72, of Drake, ND, passed away on February 6, 2024, at a Bismarck hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Drake, ND.  Family will be receiving guests one hour prior to the service.

Margo was born on February 4, 1952, to Chester and Beverly (Hoots) Zweigle in Harvey, ND.  She grew up on the family farm by Harvey, graduating from Harvey High School in 1970.   After high school she attended BSC for accounting.

On October 28, 1972, she married Gerald Spear in Drake, ND.  They made their home in Bismarck, where she began her first job at Northwest Bank.  She continued to work in the banking industry for many years. After some time they moved to Drake, ND where they started their family on the farm she loved dearly.   She enjoyed everything about farm life, from helping with the hard labor, tending the garden, canning vegetables, and doing all the bookwork.  Margo was also very involved in the community, especially her church where she played piano, and taught Bible School and Sunday School.  Always willing to lend a helping hand, she was a 4-H leader, a member of the Community Homemakers, and a community seamstress, sewing everything from patchwork to wedding dresses.

Margo had a great love for music, family, and friends; her presence will be greatly missed by her church family and the entire community.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jerry; children, Scott (Rachel) Spear and Kimberly (Wil) Norton; grandchildren, Emma, Lydia and Everett Spear, and Adam Norton; brother Myron Zweigle; several in-laws, and numerous relatives.

Margo was preceded in death by her parents; sister Ardyce Snyder; and brother, Daryl Zweigle.
