Julie Ley, passed away on July 23, 2023, in Bismarck.

Julie was born on May 17, 1950, to William and JoAnn Bartlett. She was raised in McHenry and graduated from McHenry School in 1969. She later attended and graduated from Dave’s House of Beauty in Jamestown.

Eugene and Julie married in 1976, and they traveled central U.S. on various construction projects. Settling in Olney, TX for a short time. Moving back to ND in 1988, first to Jamestown and then to Bismarck where they resided since 1990.

She was a full-time mom, caring for her children. She was “mom” to all the kids in the neighborhood. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and needlepoint. She also had a coffee club for the neighborhood moms to gather and visit.

She is survived by her husband Eugene; Sons Travis and Shawn; Daughter LaCosta (Trey) Iszler all from Bismarck; Brother, Randy (Mary) Bartlett of McHenry; Sisters, Geri (Dennis) Haugen of Carrington, Phyllis (John) Munson of Edgeley, Tammie (Davis) Briss of Mchenry, Teresa (Hank) Zirbes of Kensal, and Laura (Terry) Hovland of Wimbeldon
She was preceded in death by her parents William and JoAnn Bartlett.

A graveside service will be held at Bethlehem Cemtery at 11:00 AM on July 29, 2023. Location is approximately 2 miles north of McHenry, North Dakota
Lunch will be served at McHenry Fire Hall on Main St. following the service.

Rest in Peace Julie! We shared lots of fun times growing up together in McHenry! God’s Blessings to your family!

I was deeply saddened by Julie’s passing and your all over n our thoughts and prayers. The conversations and laughs we had were many and are missed. We are here if you need us for anything . May the Lord keep you all close at this difficult time and Julie Rest until we meet again.
