Joseph Deemer

Joseph E. Deemer, 80 passed away March 11, 2023.  Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Joseph was born on November 13, 1942, in Decatur, Iowa to Everett and Nellie Deemer.  They moved to Bismarck, where he grew up.  He attended and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1963.  He was drafted into the US Army on April 28, 1964, and was honorably discharged on April 27, 1966.  Joe served at Fort Benning, Georgia.  Joe worked at Clairmont Construction for ten years, then at Kroll’s Kitchen doing janitorial work and dishwashing duties for eighteen years.  He loved his pets including his cat and ferret.

Joe is survived by his brothers, Floyd, Darreld and Billy Deemer and his foster brothers Alvin and Ev Miller.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brother:  Gary Deemer; foster parents, Henry and Agnes Miller; foster brothers and sisters, Violet Miller, Helen Miller, Harold “Bud” Miller, Robert “Bob” Miller, Merle Miller, Lenny Miller and Martin “Chubbs” Miller.

So very sorry to hear about Joeys passing.

I’m so sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. I considered him a friend for over 60 years! RIP Joe.

Joe my friend since grade school.will miss our little talks. I was vary sad over at the veterans cematary ask if anyone was there to say goodbye they said no one you didn’t deserve that. Rip a Joe you were one of a kind.
