Janrose (Jan to her friends and Janny to certain nieces and nephews) was the youngest and last living child of eight children born to Frederick Raymond (Bud) and Mary (Eastburn) White of Dawson, ND.  In 1957, Janrose married Lowell Jasper and moved to the Jasper family farm in Robinson.  Janrose possessed a remarkable work ethic.  In addition to raising six children and supporting their farm/ranching operation, Janrose obtained a cosmetology license.  She worked as a hairdresser in Steele, ND, before setting up shop in their Robinson home. Eventually, Janrose purchased the Hair Shack in Robinson which she operated until her retirement.  After Lowell passed away in 2001, Janrose moved to Steele and later to Bismarck.

Though Janrose was multi-talented, she is most remembered for her love of quilting.  Over the years, she made and gifted several hundred quilts to family and friends.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint was an integral part of Janrose’s life. She served in various positions and loved hosting the missionaries for lunch or dinner at her home. She had an unshakable faith and looked forward to seeing family members who had gone before her.

Janrose is survived by her five children, Candace Jasper, Bismarck ND,  James Jasper, Robinson ND, Janeanne (Brad) Bischke, Bismarck, ND, Miles (Yurany) Jasper, Colstrip, MT, and Jodi (Kevin Weigel) Jasper; nine grandchildren, Joshua Hackman, Bismarck, Bobbie Jo Hackman, Bismarck,  Austin (Lauren) Jasper, Erda, Ut, Jennifer (Chris) Bevin, Tooele, UT, Eric (Ana) Bischke, Decatur, AR, Boyd (Janelle) Bischke, Bountiful UT, Matthew Jasper, Lincoln, ND, Alexis (Wendy) Wrangler, Linton ND, Hayley (Bryan) Wolf, Jamestown, ND; 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She put up with me as a kid when I begged to spend a week with the Jasper kids. She became my hairstylist when I finally broke free of the barber shop and we had lots of good visits. I grew into an adult and we became friends. Our friendship grew greater through the years. We laughed til we cried, sometimes we cried together and we could talk for hours. She never judged me; no matter what decisions I made in my life. She has always, always been there for me. I loved her as a friend, the best aunt anyone could ask for, and a second Mom.
Aunt Janny will be so terribly missed. I’m glad her pain is gone, she has reunited with so many that have passed but I wasn’t done having fun with her.

Jan was my hairstylist years ago in Robinson. She was such a caring and friendly woman. She will be missed. My prayers for comfort and peace that only God can give.

My sympathies to the Jasper family. I knew Jan when I was a child. She was always good to me! .
