George Vetter, 89, Bismarck, passed away on March 25, 2024 in a Bismarck Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Ascension Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Bismarck Funeral Home with a Rosary/Vigil service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
George Vetter was born July 19, 1934 in Linton, ND to John and Margaret (Bosch) Vetter.
He married Levina Johs on November 12, 1956. George worked as a carpet installer and civic center door guard for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends.
George is survived by his wife, Levina; daughter, Sharon (Dean) Schafer; sisters, Benadina Wald and Tillie Johs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Barbara (Blasé) Mathern, Mary (Joe) Bosch; brothers, John (Helen) Vetter, Valentine (Isabella) Vetter and brothers-in-law, Tom Wald and Joe Johs.
To George’s family-Sharon, your dad was fun to work with at the Civic Center. I worked with him for a few years and he was a joy to work with. He is now in heaven visiting with Patti K. RIP George.
Levina, and family our prayers are slotted. What an outstanding person to know!
The Lord must have needed someone, he could count on!
George was a good friend to me, as a grown man, and knew me as a baby.
He was loyal to a fault, and loved by my entire family.
I never laughed harder, than when George was in the room.
He helped our success immensely, at Interiors by Florence.
Top shelf friend, and person!!

The Lord must be running low on quality staff up there, he is now taking our, best of the best.
He always brought a smile to my face!
Not to many more on that short list these days.
Even as I write this, a smile, and a few tears, but many fun and happy memories, with George.
