Faith Ann Skogstad passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on July 27, 2020 in Bismarck, N.D. She was 56 years old. She was born September 21,1963. Faith was an independent woman and lived her life on her terms. She was admired for doing so with grace, bravery and beauty.

Friends and family are honored to be part of such an amazing life. Faith Ann was the rare spirit that knew how to listen. She heard every word you said to her. She was always helping people find ways to take care of their mind, body and spirit.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Central Time, Friday, July 31st, at the Bismarck Funeral Home in Bismarck. A memorial service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Visitation and memorial services will be held at the Bismarck Funeral Home at 3723 Lockport St.

Faith Ann loved being in nature. She enjoyed many river walks and found comfort and solace in simply being by the river. She was active in basketball, softball and volleyball as a teenager in high school and graduated from Minot High School in 1981. Later, Faith became an avid bicyclist. She enjoyed riding her bike to work and around St. Paul. She made the Twin Cities her home and lived there for the next three decades. In the cities she had a wide circle of close friends.

Faith Ann took up the formal study of Eastern medicine and became a certified acupuncturist. Her family loved her return visits to North Dakota where she happily treated family members. Faith lived a holistic lifestyle. She was simple yet complex. She loved organic food and she knew all the best organic restaurants in the Twin Cities.

Faith Ann is survived by immediate family members: sister Deidre Shannon (Marvin) of Bismarck, and nephews, TreVante and Demar; mother Marian Spotted Bear (Myron) of Bismarck; and father Monty Skogstad (Linda) of Bismarck; and brothers Daniel Zamora of Denver, and Jesse (Margaret) Fool Bear of St. Paul.

Faith, who was an enrolled citizen of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation, is preceded in death by the following: maternal grandparents, Olive Sholaas (Spotted Bear) Benson and Lorenzo “Larry” Spotted Bear; and paternal grandparents, Nadine and Harold Skogstad. We take comfort in knowing Faith is now embraced by her aunts and uncles who’ve welcomed her to the Spirit World.

We now bid a sad farewell to our angel on earth.
