Dawn “Marlys” Britsch

Dawn “Marlys” Britsch, 83, Jamestown, went to be with the Lord on June 17, 2020, in a Detroit Lakes, MN care center.  Funeral services will be on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 10:30 a.m., at the Bismarck Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral Home. Interment will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Dawn was born on May 13, 1937, in Devils Lake, ND to Gordon and Bertha (Sheets) Silberg.  She was raised and educated in Marble Rock, Iowa and graduated from Marble Rock High School. Dawn moved to Texas and married William Baker and they had four boys.

Dawn was later united in marriage to Jerome Britsch on January 27, 1972, in Churchs Ferry, ND. They moved to Jamestown where Dawn was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and caretaker for many. Dawn loved the Lord with all her heart, and her strong faith was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Dawn enjoyed caring for her grandkids and going out for coffee with friends and family. She always looked forward to family get togethers. Dawn always said, “the more the merrier.” She enjoyed playing Rook and listening to the family sing.

Dawn is survived by her children: Greg (Debbie) Baker, Frazee, MN, Bill Baker, Detroit Lakes, MN, Kevin (Candie) Baker, Ripon, WI, and Kerry (Lisa) Baker, Detroit Lakes, MN; grandchildren: Danae (Doug) Rode,  Matt (Ally), Brandon (Ashley), and Nathan Baker; Kaiah, Zach, and Austin Baker; Brittany (Zach) Travis, Faith, Talan, and Maci Baker; Eva, Hayden, and Jocelyn Baker; great grandchildren: Nevaeh, Jaxson, and Jerika Rode; Kianna, Mia, and Greyson Baker; Reese and Willa Baker; Grace and Brinkson Baker; Jayce, Abel, and Mayzie Travis; brother: Denny (Becky) Silberg, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerry, grandson, Jeremy Baker, sisters, Lila Nelsen and Pat Bracken, and brother, Ronnie Silberg.
