Cathy Silbernagel, 76, of Bismarck, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023, with her loving husband by her side at Edgewood, Mandan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Ascension Catholic Church, Bismarck, ND with Msgr. Braaten as celebrant. The burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bismarck Funeral Home, with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 PM.

Cathy was born on May 17,1946 in Strasburg, ND to Steven and Katie Rohrich. She was the second youngest of ten children.

Cathy married Robert (Bob) Silbernagel on February 17, 1968. From this union 3 children were raised.

Cathy was an amazing cook. She loved cooking for her family and would make menus weeks before a family dinner. She always ensured she made the favorite foods of her family, especially her grandkids favorites.

Cathy was very crafty. There weren’t many things that she couldn’t recreate.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bob. Her loving children Traver (Jenn) Fargo, Bob (Karen) Lake Elmo Minnesota and Kim (Andrew) Bismarck. As well as her grandchildren Nick, Ryan, Reganne, Peyton, Jacob and Corban. She is proceeded in death by her parents, sisters (Marie, Theresa, and Elenora) and brothers (Bill and Herman). Along with numerous brother and sister in laws.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Hospice of the Red River Valley. Especially Sheri and Mary.

So sorry to hear about Cathy, I worked with her at Dorothy Moses School. She was always so pleasant and I enjoyed our visits on the playground. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs to all of her family. I worked with Cathy at Dorothy Moses for many years.She was very dedicated to her job and we had many great visits. She was very proud of her family and loved to visit about them. God bless you Cathy and May you Rest In Peace with our Lord.

Thank you for live streaming Aunt Cathy’s celebration of life. Some of the family in Alaska got to watch it. So sorry for your loss. She is up in Heaven with my momma, grandma, grandpa and all our other family members. Love and hugs from the family in Alaska.
