Arlys (Kittie) Estella Kassian, 71, of Wilton went to her maker December 19th, 2022.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunne Lutheran Church.  For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed on the Bismarck Funeral Home Facebook page.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Bismarck Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

Arlys Kassian was born April 28, 1951, to Marion and Dina Schumann in Hazen, ND. Arlys attended school in the Hazen and Mercer area and graduated from Mercer High School in 1969. She met the love of her life Gerald, while she was a freshman in high school. Arlys and Gerald were married on October 17, 1969. They spent the first couple of years together in Mountainview, CA while Gerald was in the service for the U.S. Navy. After that they moved back to the family farm in Wilton, ND and began their farm life together for the rest of her days. Arlys loved people and could chat with a perfect stranger for hours; she was always friendly and full of life. Arlys was the sweetest and kindest lady. She enjoyed her grandchildren immensely and always waited for a visit from them for the past few years or enjoyed the routine phone calls from them just to say hello and ask how she was doing; she will be deeply missed by her grandchildren and her special sister Charlene who helped so much over the past few years. She also enjoyed crocheting, listening to old time music, and of course watching football on TV.

Arlys is survived by her husband of 53 years Gerald, two sons, Jarrod and his wife Olha (Wilton, ND), Jody and his wife Sally (Casper, WY) and a daughter Jannell (Fargo).  And of course, her precious grandchildren, Lane, Tatiana, Jarrick, Zakhar, Xavier, Gabby, Maddy, Abby, Sam and Grace. She is also Survived by her brother Ernie (Cindy), Post Falls, ID, sisters Elaine Kurle, Vancouver, WA, Bert Knell, Bismarck, Charlene (Jerry) Lelm, Bismarck. She will also be missed deeply by her Goddaughter and special friend Tammy Kassian, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Greeting her in Heaven are her son Jerry Ryan (JR), her parents Marion and Dina and brothers Edward and Robert.

Kitty was such a special lady and loved by all that came into her life. Always a smile for everyone. Has a very special spot in my heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family who she loved beyond words.

Kittie was such a sweet lady! Her spirit was joyful and tender. I always enjoyed visiting with her in her beautiful home. She will be missed! Pat and I are praying for you, Gerald, as you go through this trying time. I still smile when I remember taking her picture with Gerald. She was embarrassed because she was wearing a “CASE Tractor” hoodie, and there was a John Deere combine in the background — a real farm girl!!

We are so sorry for your loss of Arlys. I really enjoyed visiting with her at our last class reunion. I still remember how she would get up extra early to fix coffee for you, Jerry. I had to tease you about that. She was such a happy, kind lady. May Christ wrap his arms around you and hold you close. Your classmate, LuWan Duma
