Shirley Mae Hartman, 91, Dickinson passed away November 27, 2023, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck.  A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck.

Shirley was born in Dickinson on July 11, 1932, to Bill and Eva Anner.  She joined brothers Billy and Bob, and later Bev, DuWayne, Denny, Sheila and Linda.  She was educated in Dickinson and graduated in 1950.  She met the love of her life, Edward Hartman, and they married in 1951.  They spent 72 wonderful years together and were only apart when Edward served in the Korean War.  They made their home in Dickinson.  The family was complete when they added Jeff, Jayme, Vickie and Paul.  Shirley was a wonderful homemaker and took such great care of her family and always loved spending time with them.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were especially a source of pride and joy.  She loved working in the garden and especially with her flowers that were all around the yard.   Shirley had many friends and was always meeting more.  She enjoyed coffee at the Rec Center, playing cards, birthday club and craft club. She volunteered at the hospital and worked many local elections. She could always be counted on for a shoulder to lean on or for a kind word when needed most.  She was strong but so kind and always seemed to know how to handle any situation.

Shirley is greatly missed by her family.  Children, Jayme (Cathy) Hartman, Vickie (Delmer) Entzel, Paul (Rachel) Hartman.  Grandchildren, Niles, Joshua (Athena), Corey, Sara, Emily, Ethan and Madyson.  Great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Cooper, Zane, Sophia, Quinn and Wren.  Her brother Bob (MaryAnn) Anner and sister Linda Fridrick, sisters-in-law, Teri Anner and Sharon Anner, and brother-in-law, Dennis Schloss.

.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward (Aug ’23), son Jeff, parents Bill and Eva Anner, sisters Bev Kolling and Sheila Schloss, brothers Billy, DuWayne and Denny Anner.  Brother’s in-law Gene Kolling and Frank Fridrick.

The family would like to thank everyone at Benedict’s Court for your loving care given to both our parents, it was so appreciated.
