WILFRED (BILL) KELLER

Wilfred A. “Bill” Keller, 89, passed away on August 20, 2019, at St. Gabriel’s Community.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, August 23, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, at 11:00 a.m.  Gathering will begin one hour prior to service.  Burial will take place at the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery following the service at 1:00 p.m.  Visitation will be Thursday evening at St. Gabriel’s Community from 6:00-7:00 p.m., with a rosary beginning at 7:00.

Bill was born on August 18, 1930 to Frank and Helen (Schneider) Keller, in Linton, ND.  He attended school and graduated in Linton.  Following graduation he worked on electrical lines around the Bismarck area, until 1951 when he enlisted into the Naval Air Corp.  He served as a gunman during the Korean War and was stationed in Bermuda during that time.  After four years in the military Bill made his home in Jacksonville, Florida, where he spent his years as a loan officer/manager in the finance industry.

Bill greatly enjoyed sports, especially golfing with friends.  He was also an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, New York Yankees, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Navy and the Florida Seminoles.

Family and faith were very important to Bill.  In 2006, he moved back to ND to be closer to family and he faithfully attended mass at St. Mary’s and St. Gabriel’s.

He will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, and ability to tell a good joke.

Bill is survived by his sister, Eleanor Maloney and sister-in-law, Shirley Keller; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Frank (Rita) Keller, Debert (Alice) Keller, Edward Keller and brother-in-law, Francis Maloney; sisters, Wilma (John) Hagel and Mary (Al) Mattern.

The family would like to express gratitude for the care that St. Gabriel’s provided to Bill during his stay there.
