Shirley (Wahl) Zimmerman, 81, of Bismarck, realized the fulfillment of her faith on November 19, 2018, as she departed this life and entered her heavenly home. The service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held on Friday, November 23rd at 2 PM at Faith Center Church of God of Prophecy, 2303 E Divide Ave, Bismarck, ND 58501. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Shirley was born November 22, 1936, to John and Christina Wahl in McClusky, ND. She grew up with her siblings on the farm until she moved to Bismarck, where she met her future husband. Shirley married Elmer Zimmerman on November 10, 1955 and together they had five children. She worked at the Bismarck Hospital, Saxvik Elementary, and Rolling Hills Daycare Center in food services.
She is survived by her children: Ronae (Randy) Gwin, Lakeville, MN; Rose (Randy) Hultstrand, Bismarck, ND; Jackie Zimmerman, Elizabethtown, KY; Pam (Dave) Seratt, Powell, WY; and Elaine (Randy) Hansen, Centennial, CO; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Beverly (Gene) Amelsberg, Bismarck, ND; and brother Jerry (Donna) Wahl, Dickinson, ND; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers – Lawrence, Eugene, Leonard, and Bobby; four sisters – Alice, Violet, Adeline, and Betty; her son, Bryan Zimmerman; and granddaughter, Christina Marie Seratt.
