Roxy Boelz

d. September 25, 2022

Roxy Boelz, 72, Bismarck, ND, passed on from this life the morning of September 25, 2022.

Roxy was born on April 9, 1950, and grew up in Lakota, ND.  She graduated from Lakota High School and then went on to receive a Secretarial Science diploma from a local community college in Moorhead, MN.  She started working as a secretary at the accounting firm Eide, Helmeke, Boelz & Pasch (now Eide Bailly) in Fargo, ND, where she met her husband of 41 years, Dale Boelz.  She had two kids from a previous marriage, Robert Boelz, Denver, CO, and Terri Boelz, Ventura, CA.

So many people who encountered Roxy always remember the first time they met her; she made that much of an impression.  Such a genuine and kind soul; she had a tremendous amount of compassion and would help anyone who needed it.  Roxy was a natural caretaker, often putting the needs of others before her own.  Additionally, she was a health enthusiast:  Vegetarian for 40+ years, voracious runner much of her life, entering (and winning) 10k races, and attending many conferences to keep updated on health modalities. She also enjoyed reading and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Earl Nelson, Lakota, ND, her husband, Dale Boelz, Bismarck, ND, and grandson, Cole Boelz.

Cherishing her memory are her children, Robert Boelz, Denver, CO, and Terri Boelz, Ventura, CA; siblings, Lori Nelson (Bill Rivas), Sebastopol, CA, and Jeri (Mark) Rue, Floyd Knobs, IN; and nephews, Matt (Bridget) Rue, Pinehurst, North Carolina, and Evan Rue, Eugene, Oregon.

At her request, there will be no funeral service, and a celebration of life gathering will be held with family/friends at a later date.  We will miss her dearly.
