Roland P. Fischer, 82, Mandan passed away October 14, 2021, at Sanford Medical Center. Memorial service will be Friday, October 29 at 10:00 am at Bismarck Funeral Home. For those not attending, the service will be streamed live on the Bismarck Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery following the service. Please be respectful, wear a mask or ensure you social distance.
Roland was born in Hebron, ND to Gottleib and Dora (Brinkman) Fischer March 30, 1939. He attended Hebron school. He served in the US Navy from 1957 to 1960. Roland married Gladys Opp on June 30, 1960. He worked for Peavey Elevator in Bismarck for 11 years. He then worked at Heartview Foundation in Mandan for 25 years as a maintenance technician. He enjoyed shooting prairie dogs, woodworking and watching westerns.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; children, Russ, Gwyn and Becky; grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Wilmer and sister, Norma.
