Roger Hacanson, 76, Bismarck, died November 4, 2024. Visitation will be on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Bismarck Funeral Home.

Roger was born on August 31, 1948, to Gordon and Bernice Hacanson in Minot ND. Roger attended rural school at Ryder before attending high school in Garrison. He then attended NDSCS in Wahpeton. Where he received a degree in automotive mechanics, which led him to his lifelong career as a Service Advisor/ Manager in the Bismarck Mandan area and later, Belle Fourche SD. During his years in the industry, he received many awards for his outstanding customer service. 

In 1969 he married Karon Sayler in Bismarck. During their marriage they had 3 children, Michelle Dockter (Dennis), Michael Hacanson (Susan), and Marsha Baumann (Jesse).

In 1991 he married Pam Gladder in Bismarck. They shared a love of the Black Hills of SD and relocated to Belle Fourche soon after. After Pam's passing in Belle Fourche he met and married Colleen Todd. He and Colleen remained in the home they loved until Colleen's passing in the spring of 2024.

In July he relocated to Wilton ND to be with his family. Throughout his life he enjoyed many sporting events and his passion for stock car racing, along with camping and many community events. 

Roger is survived by his children and grandchildren, Brandon (Brittany), Brittney (Daniel), Josephine, Paige, Charles, and Ella. His great grandchildren Bennett, Tycen, Nolan, Norah, and Nellie, and 4 stepchildren Karyl, Donna, Charles, and Kathleen.

Roger was preceded in death by his infant brother and sister, grandparents, parents and many aunts and uncles.
