Robert Joseph Fleck, 87, Bismarck, died June 21, 2019 at the Baptist Health Care Center.
Robert was united in marriage to Marlys Bucklin of Mandan in 1953. Robert was an owner/operator of the Best Western Fleck House Motel, Bismarck (1969-1972). He owned and operated the Toyota Dealership in Bismarck (1973-1981) and served as president of the Bismarck/Mandan Auto Dealers Association in 1977. In 1991 Robert, along with his son, William, formed Fleck Interstate Investments partnership and purchased the North Wells Fargo Bank building and Arrowhead Plaza strip mall.
Robert was born November 13, 1931 at Mandan, ND, the son of Marcus and Margaret (Kautzman) Fleck. He attended St. Joseph’s Grade School, Mandan High School and received a BA majoring in Business and Accounting from the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.
Robert is survived by his wife, Marlys, his daughter, Margaret (Frank) Kaiser, Ellendale, ND, sons Robert Thomas (Kim) Fleck, Norman, OK and William (Christiana) Fleck, Bismarck ND, eight grandchildren, Steve (Bobbi) Kaiser, Houston, TX, Tom (Becky) Kaiser, Aberdeen, SD, Anne (Randy) Hahne, Carrington, ND, Matthew Fleck, Norman, OK, Marisa Fleck, Arlington, TX, Sophia Fleck, Minneapolis, MN, Victor Fleck, Bismarck, ND, Ava Hohenstein, Minneapolis, MN and eight great-grandchildren.
The Fleck family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Baptist Health Care Center for their compassionate care of their father and grandfather during his last days. Robert’s life will be celebrated at a private ceremony. Memorials may be made to the Baptist Health Care Center or a charity of the donor’s choice.
