Richard (Rich) Dean Johner, age 40, of Mandan ND, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday September 15, 2024, in Bismarck ND.
Rich was born on June 2, 1984, in Bismarck ND. He attended Selfridge High School and worked in various industries throughout his life, but his true passions lay in welding, working on vehicles, and building and constructing projects. One of his greatest accomplishments was earning his CDL license, which allowed him to follow in his father’s footsteps by driving trucks.
Rich was known for his loving and caring nature, his infectious sense of humor and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a deep love for gardening, taking special pride in caring for his “Christmas Love Fern,” and he enjoyed decorating and celebrating the holidays.
An outdoor enthusiast, Rich especially loved hunting, fishing, and being a part of the derby car and racing communities. He was always the loudest supporter in the stands at his children’s sporting events. Farm life, particularly raising cattle, was another passion close to his heart. Above all, he cherished spending time with his children, Deb, and his loyal dogs, Roscoe, Misty, and Tyson.
Rich will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
He is survived by his special friend, Deb Mosset; his children, Weston, Carson, Kaylee, Tatum, Jaxson, Haley, Emma, and Hunter. He is also survived by his mother, Kay Bauer; his father, David Kraft; brothers, David (Kas) Kraft, and Dwight (Bobbi Jo) Kraft; and his beloved fur babies, Roscoe, Misty, and Tyson, and numerous Aunts, Uncles and family members.
Rich was preceded in death by his Dad, Richard R. Johner; his grandparents, Ardice and Pius Johner; Grandpa Danny Bauer; and aunts; Shirley and Rosie.
Honorary Urn Bearers include Rich’s children, Shelby Rae Keplin & Family, Brandon and Amanda Ude, David and Dwight Kraft, Josh Patterson, Travis Freisz, Shilo Gerhardt, Derrick Duppong & Family, BJ Liddle, Darrel Goetz & family, Joe Jahner, Ryan Lindquist, Derrick Dobransky, and his family/best friends at Missouri Basin Materials (MBM).
During his life, Rich built countless friendships, and he would want everyone to be recognized. If anyone was not mentioned; it was not intentional.
