Raymon E. Frank passed away on February 9, 2025 in Bismarck, ND at the age of 96. Burial will be held at the ND Veterans Cemetery on February 14 at 1:00 pm.
A celebration of life will be held at Bismarck Funeral Home on Saturday, February 15 at 6:30 pm.
Ray was born March 17, 1928 in Logan County, North Dakota, the son of Peter J. and Wilhelimina (Roemmich) Frank. He attended Napoleon High School and married LaVern Bauer on September 24, 1950. Ray served in the United States Army from 1950-1952. He received his B.S. Degree in Business Administration from Valley City State University in 1956 and his Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Northern Sate University in 1965.
During his education career of 37 years, Ray taught and coached football, basketball and track at Luverne Public and New England Public Schools for nine years and then was the Supt. Of Schools at Hebron, Bowman, Killdeer and Hazen from 1966 until retiring on June 30, 1991. Ray was also a crop hail adjuster for 21 years and after his retirement from education, owned an insurance/investment agency in Bismarck for 16 years.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, past officer/member of many regional and state organizations including President of the North Dakota Association of School Administrators, Regional Rep. American Association of School Administrators, District Commander of American Legion, Am Vets, Lions and Chamber of Commerce.
Ray is survived by his son, James (Deb) of Devis Lake; daughters, Kathy Geestman of Linton, Shari Johnson of Bismarck, Lori (Les) Hintz of Hayden Lake, ID, Kari (Craig) Schmidt of Minot; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Marcella (Sally) Lang of Napoleon and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 69 years and all his brothers.
