Michael was born May 23, 1955, in Bismarck, ND to Victor and Leonita Heilman. He graduated from Bismarck High School in 1973. In 1984 Mike moved to California where he drove truck and worked as a security guard, until he found his true passion as a Karaoke entertainer and started his own entertainment business, Outlaw Entertainment. Being a KJ brought much enjoyment to Mike, as well as to his many karaoke friends and followers, who branded him “Rodeo Mike”, a name he told his family about upon his move back to Bismarck, ND in May 2022, and one that he carried with much pride and joy. Mike also found solace in designing and hand crafting detailed, intricate, and fully functional one of a kind models.
Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his father, Victor Heilman; his siblings Allan (Susan) Heilman, Gilberta (Darrell) Holzer, Dean (Tracy) Heilman, Dorothy (Don) Vetter, Myron (Lisa) Heilman, and Calvin (Teresa) Heilman, and many nieces and nephews. Mike will also be greatly missed by his karaoke family in Southern California. He will always be “Rodeo Mike” in their hearts
Mike is preceeded in death by his mother, Leonita, his brothers Leon Heilman and Willian Heilman, as well as his grandparents and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
