Marlene (Wahl) Unruh, 80, Bismarck, passed away May 9, 2022, at Missouri Slope Care Center.  Memorial Services will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at the Bismarck Funeral Home.  For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed on the Bismarck Funeral Home Facebook page.  Visitation will be on Sunday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Bismarck Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.  Burial will be on Monday, at 2:30 p.m. at McClusky Cemetery, with a time of fellowship to follow at the McClusky Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m.

Marlene was born May 18, 1941, in McClusky ND to Reinhold and Helen (Neuharth) Wahl. She attended McClusky High School, then moved to Bismarck. She married Armin Unruh May 6, 1960. They lived temporarily in Larimore and Lakota before permanently residing in McClusky where they raised their four children.

Marlene was an excellent cook, gardener, and homemaker. Her home was always the center of family gatherings, providing the very best of homemade meals and desserts. Her homemade vegetable soup, made from their garden produce, was always a favorite of family and friends. Other favorites were her popcorn balls, pickles, and baked goods. Her faith was a very important part of her life. She really enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Wanda (Dave) Herberholz, Mandan ND; sons, Wayne (Tangula), Bismarck, Ward (Shirley), Lincoln ND, and Wynne (Linda), Bismarck; 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Russell (Ardith) and Jim Wahl, of Bismarck ND, Paul (Debby) of Eden Prairie MN; three sisters, Janice Wahl, Minot ND, Sandra (Angel) Perez, Lincoln City OR, and Daphne (Dan) Vainonen, Jamestown ND, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Armin in 1997.
