Marion was born on February 8, 1932 to Peter and Martha Romanick in Bismarck, ND. She graduated from Wilton High School in 1950. On Sept. 29, 1951, Marion married William “Bill” Sawicki in Wilton. The couple lived, farmed and raised their family north of Wilton.
A proud North Dakotan, Marion enjoyed her many years of working next to Bill while they worked the land and cared for the family's cow-calf operation.
She cherished the farm life and shared her love of the outdoors with all of her children and grandchildren. Often times she spent that time outdoors tending to her garden where she would grow flowers as well as fresh produce to can for the winter months.
Marion was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on through the many lives she touched.
Marion is survived by her children, Terry Sawicki, Wilton, Gary (Joan) Sawicki, Bismarck, and Marianne (Al) Setka, Des Moines, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Nancy Sawicki; seven grandchildren, Dustin, Amber, Mitch, Chris, Jami, Allie and Tanner; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Sawicki; son, Randy Sawicki; her parents; sister, Lorene Kirsch; and brothers, John Romanick and William Romanick.
