Loretta Burgad, 92, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society – Miller Pointe, Mandan, ND.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Bismarck Funeral Home. Family will begin greeting guests one hour prior to the service. A burial will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
Loretta was born on September 30, 1930, in Bismarck, North Dakota to Joseph and Barbara (Senger) Kelsch. She was raised in Linton, ND and graduated from Linton High School in 1948.
On June 6, 1949, she married Clarence Burgad. Together they farmed and ranched in Linton until 1975. She was a hardworking woman who enjoyed working, over the years she worked at the Linton hospital, JCPenney, Roberts Floral, Dollar Discount, ARC, and lastly Dan’s SuperValu when she retired at the age of 90. Through the years she had her regular customers who always enjoyed her company.
Loretta was a loving mother, grandma and great grandma who cherished spending time with her family. She loved to cook and bake delicious meals for her loved ones and enjoyed crocheting blankets and dish towels for them as well. Family meals on Tuesday nights were a special tradition that the family looked forward to every week.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on through the many lives she touched.
Loretta is survived by her daughters, Toni Ann (Dan) Weber of Linton, ND and Thecla Ohlhauser of Bismarck, ND; sons, Terry (Janice) Burgad of Bismarck, Timothy (Alice) Burgad of Linton, and Tyrone (Crystal) Burgad of Mandan, ND; grandchildren, Jesse (Jessica) Burgad, Terri Lynn Burgad, Thompsun Burgad, Shawn (Manisha) Burgad, Justin (friend, Cardi) Burgad, Kayln “K.C.” (Amanda) Burgad, Amber (Matt) Zimny, Jessica (Jeff) Evenson, Brent (Betty) Weber, Bryce (Valerie) Weber, Brady (Jessica) Weber, Brandon (Taylor) Weber, Christopher (Christine) Ohlhauser, and Isaac Burgad; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Faith, Samuel, Austin (Autumn), Sierra (Derek), Riot, Bennett, Claire, Rylan, Jordyn, Camden, Gus, Jada, Hailey, Walker, Lydia, Wyatt, Daxon, and Callie; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Kelsch and Viola Kelsch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents, great-granddaughter, Brynn Evenson; her brothers, Alvin and Joe Kelsch; half-brothers, Louis Roehrich, John Roehrich, Anton Kelsch and Gregory Kelsch; half-sisters, Alice Eberle, Rose Schumacher, and Maggie Fischer; sisters-in-law, Annette Kelsch and Malonia Kelsch.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Miller Pointe for taking such good care of mom during her stay. The staff was so caring and wonderful.
