Lois was born on December 5 th , 1946, in Jamestown ND, to Violet A. (Van Winkle) & Herbert W. Sissell. She grew up in Jamestown, attending Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1964. After graduation, Lois moved to Bismarck and worked as a telephone operator with Northwestern Bell phone company.

Lois met and married Dallas Sailer of Bismarck, and together they welcomed a daughter, Lisa. After their divorce, Lois relocated back to Jamestown where she worked for various employers including Dakota Bake and Serve and MDU. She met Laverne Klose and the two were married and welcomed daughter, Jennifer. The two later divorced. Lois was a homemaker while her girls were younger. When Jennifer was in junior high, she accepted employment with Jamestown High School, running the computer lab and later holding her last employment with Holiday Inn Express. After the death of her mother, Lois moved to Bismarck to be closer to her girls and grandchildren.  Due to declining health, she later resided at Missouri Slope.

Throughout the years, Lois enjoyed doing needle point, reading, playing bingo and watching horror movies. Her greatest joy was welcoming grandchildren into her life. They were the light of her life, and she enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could, always sharing a personal memory that came to her during their time together. She loved the opportunity to attend any activities that her grandchildren were involved in, from band concerts, sporting events or dance performances. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, a commonality she shared with her grandson, and they spent many hours talking & watching football.

Lois is survived by her daughters, Lisa Deibert of Bismarck and Jennifer (Ryan) Harrington on Mandan; grandchildren Donovan & Quinn Deibert of Bismarck and Westin & Kendra Harrington of Mandan; sister-in-law, Janetta Sissell, South Carolina; her lifelong friend, Jannet Hendrickson; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brother Conrad Sissell of Virginia, sister Sheryl Logsdon of Wahpeton, her ex-husband Laverne Klose of Jamestown and many aunts and uncles.
