Lee Brown, 82, Wilton, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 11, 2019, at a Bismarck hospital, with family at his side. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 23, at Bismarck Funeral Home. Family will be receiving friends one hour before the service.
Lee Willis Brown was born September 21, 1936, in Wilton to Freddy and Charlotte (Bittner) Brown. He attended school in Wilton. After high school he worked various jobs in road construction operating heavy equipment. He spent most of his working years at the Glen-Harold Coal Mine, retiring in 1995. He also took care of five boat landings along the Missouri River for many years. Lee enjoyed farming, cutting and splitting wood and most of all, he enjoyed fishing with his sons.
Lee enjoyed his grandchildren and they looked forward to summers when they stayed to work and play on the farm. Every fall, he looked forward to their family tradition during deer season, where everyone would gather at the farm to hunt.
He married Alice Andel on October 16, 1959, in Casselton, ND. Together they raised three children on their farm West of Wilton.
Lee is survived by Alice, his best friend and wife of 59 years, Wilton; children: Tim (Chris), Fargo, Michael (Jeanne), Bismarck and Sherri (William) Watson, Peyton, CO; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jean Johnson, Wilton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Lloyd & Donnie.
