Kenneth Duane Litt, 71, passed away, in Arizona, on January 24, 2019, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. A memorial service will be held on April 19, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at Bismarck Funeral Home.
He was born to Joe and Ida Litt, and raised in Bismarck, ND. He graduated from Bismarck High School. He continued his education at the University Of North Dakota, completing a degree in Sociology. Kenneth married Linda Sterioti and together they made their home in Bismarck. Ken also served in the North Dakota National Guard. That same year he began a new career working for the State of North Dakota as a vocational rehabilitation counselor. In addition to his State position, Ken and his close friend, Paul Brink, opened Fiesta Villa Restaurant, which ran successfully for 31 years, first in Mandan, then moving to the Bismarck Train Depot. After retiring from the State of North Dakota, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to begin a completely different business endeavor in lawn care, Scotts/TrueGreen. Together with his son, Tom, this business has thrived due in part to Ken’s dedication and customer service.
When not working, Ken enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, and hiking. He also had a passion for cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed traveling with his family, scuba diving, and snow skiing.
He will be remembered and missed by his family, many loyal friends, relatives, employees, and customers.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Linda; son, Tom; daughter, Stacy (Mike); grandchildren, Joey and Maddie; and brother, Robert Litt (Reggie).
