Kathryn Steckler, 97, Bismarck passed away September 10, 2022, at CHI St. Alexius Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at the Church of St. Anne, Bismarck. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed on the Bismarck Funeral Home Facebook page.
Kathryn was born September 3, 1925, to Stephen D. and Cecelia (Stein) Gerhardt. She attended 1 year of college. Kathryn taught country school for 3 years. On June 19, 1946, she married Anton Steckler at Flasher, ND. After her marriage, she and Anton farmed in the Mandan area for 47 years. In 1997, she moved to Bismarck where she lived 25 years until the angels came to carry her home.
Kathryn enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, crocheting, baking, cooking, puzzles, word-search, crossword puzzles, she loved her pets and truly enjoyed and loved spending time with her family.
Kathryn is survived by her son, Robert J. (Lori) Steckler, Bismarck; Four grandchildren, Brandon R. (Kristen) Steckler, Dustin L. (Brittany) Steckler, Allison L. (Dustin) Miller, April L. (Jonathan) Rolfson; Seven great grandchildren, Nevaeh Steckler, Paxton Miller, Theodore Steckler, Luella Miller, Ava Steckler, Dawson Steckler, & Lonna Rolfson; one brother-in-law Lib Schmidt.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anton Steckler on December 30, 1994, her parents, her sisters, Peggy Miller, Cecelia Schmidt, Patricia Schmidt; her brother, Theodore Gerhardt; two brothers-in-law, Paul Schmidt, and Leo Miller; one sister-in-law Clara Gerhardt.
