Jeffrey S. McDowall

Jeffrey S. McDowall, 61, Mandan, passed away April 6, 2025 at his home. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 11, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Bismarck Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at a later date.

Jeff was born May 28, 1963 in Georgia to Marley and Janice (Lundstrom) McDowall. He called Mandan his home where he attended and graduated from Mandan Senior High School in 1982. Jeff then attended Bismarck State College and graduated with a degree in photography. He started his own business as Image Photography and did a wide variety of work with his talents. From weddings, graduation and family portraits to scenic beauty-he enjoyed it all. Jeff was very talented artistically, and liked to draw, sketch and paint.

Some of Jeff’s favorite things to do included music. He played the trumpet and guitar during his high school years. He especially liked older music from the 50’s and 60’s, with Elvis being just one of his favorites. In fact, he pretty much like anything “retro”! Classic holiday shows and old movies were a favorite pastime.

Jeff eventually changed careers and became a licensed pharmacy tech. Many people got to know him through his work at Thrifty White Pharmacy, and more recently at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck.

Jeff will be remembered by many as a kind and fun-loving person, and he will be greatly missed by all who love him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marley McDowall of Mandan; grandparents, Thomas and Wilma McDowall of Carson and Ernest and Katie Lundstrom of Mandan.
