Jeanine Shea, 60, passed away August 27th, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Friday, August 31, 2018, 2:00 pm, at Bismarck Funeral Home, Bismarck, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Jeanine was born January 18, 1958, as Jeanine Marie Hauck to Mary Lou and Du Wayne Hauck. At age six she was adopted by John W. Swanson. Jeanine and her brother Kelly spent a great part of their childhood in Flasher, ND being cared for by their grandparents, Julia and Peter Bohl. She attended Mandan High School as part of the class of 1976 and studied nursing at North Dakota State School of Science for one year. She then studied Criminal Justice and Social Work at Bismarck State College. At the school, she later earned an Associate of Arts degree in English with a minor in Journalism.
In 1993, she went to work for Alan Greenwood at Vintage Guitar magazine, and loved every minute of her time there. She retired in 2017, after 24 years with the publication.
Jeanine is survived by her brother Kelly Swanson, his daughter Cassandra Pollard, and her son Kaeden Pollard; her three children – Jennifer Gisinger (Christopher), Melissa Sullivan (Bryan), and Elizabeth Shea (Erik Johansen) along with seven grandchildren – Jaden Hoffman, Daemon Hoffman, Zahn Gisinger, Collin Morrissey, Sebastian Gisinger, James Sullivan and Luella Sullivan. She was devoted to all of them, and spent every possible moment with her grandchildren. She and her
