James W Pascua, 81, Mandan, passed away January 23, 2023, from his struggles with many health issues. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 1, from 5 -7 pm, at the Bismarck Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Memorial services will be on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 1470 South Washington, Bismarck.
Jim was born on March 23, 1941, in Bismarck at St. Alexius Medical Center. He was the son of Rufino (John) and Alice Pascua. He graduated from Bismarck High School in 1959. He then entered the Navy in October 1959 where he worked on an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam era. After returning he worked in construction as a surveyor. He was a manager of Country Kitchen and then a salesman for Keebler. He became an Ironworker in 1974 until his retirement.
Jim met the love of his life Jeannine Honcik, and they were united in marriage on December 4, 1965. They were blessed with four children, Candace (Kevin) Miller, West Fargo, ND, Jeff (Beth) Pascua, Northfield, MN, Cori (Matt) Odegard, Bismarck, ND, and Jayden (Shandy) Pascua, Bismarck, ND. He has 12 Grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Jim was a life member of the Amvets, Elks and the Ironworkers Local 793 (512). During his spare time, Jim enjoyed golfing, playing cards with buddies, wintering in Lake Havasu, AZ for 16 years and spending time with family and of course cheering on his beloved “Bears”
Jim is survived by his wife Jeannie of 57 years, 4 children, 12 grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, Sister, Virginia Zeck, Great Falls, MT, Sister-in-law’s Vi Mikula, Britton, SD, Bev (Kermit) Nelson, Ulen, MN, Susie Heller, Rock Lake, ND, Brother-in-Law, Jim (Carol) Honcik Jr, Moorhead, MN., 29 Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Jim and Viola Honcik, brothers-in-law, Donald Honcik, Carl Mikula, along with many loyal friends.
