Hazel V. Sanders, 83, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Miller Pointe, Mandan. Cremation has taken place. She will be taken home to North Idaho to her favorite fishing & camping spot.
Hazel was born in Missoula, MT. She spent many years of her life working hard as a waitress/cocktail waitress and raising her six children. She taught them the value of money, how to always save for a rainy day and a profound work ethic which she passed down to her kids. If the measure of a Mother is reflective of her children, we can say Mom did a Great Job!!
Whenever Hazel would go out and about she would dress like a million bucks with her polished cowboy boots of many colors and pressed blue jeans, in fact, one could cut their finger on that seam of those jeans.
Hazel enjoyed car races, rodeos, camping, fishing, dancing, football, and traveling. She was able to see many beautiful places and always had a “BIG” story for them all. Hazel had the “gift of gab” and would talk to anyone who would listen. Her grandson Zack reflected that Grandma Hazel “ALWAYS LOVED AND NEVER JUDGED” those whom she met. Her smile was unforgettable.
Hazel is survived by her sons Vince (Tammy) Sanders, Bismarck; Marty (Deanna) Sanders, Cataldo, ID; Danny (Colleen) Sanders, Couer d’Alene, ID and her daughter Lori (Bob) Leier, Braddock, ND. She also has twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Hazel was greeted with open arms in Heaven by her son Art Jr., daughter Tammy, and grandson Ron.
