Evelyn (Volk) Campbell, 84, of Bismarck, passed away on January 10, 2020, in her home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at 12:30 p.m., at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with Rosary and Vigil beginning at 7:00, at the Bismarck Funeral Home.

Evelyn (Evie) was born in Raleigh, ND, daughter of Anselm and Katherine (Ternes) Volk.  She attended grade school in Raleigh and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1952.

She worked at the State Treasurers office until 1962 when she married Bill Campbell of Farimount, ND, at St. Anne’s Church in Bismarck.  They had five children.  When their children were grown Evelyn went to work at the Bismarck Public Library in the children’s department.  She worked there for 18 years until her retirement in 2008.

Evelyn was an active member of Cathedral of the Holy Spirit parish.

Evelyn is survived by her five children, Patricia (John) Wilke, of Detroit Lakes, MN, Kathleen (Ron) Sieve, of Rochester, MN, Daniel Campbell, of Bismarck, Joseph Campbell, of Bismarck, and Father Shane Campbell, of Belfield, ND; 10 grandchildren, Teresa (Jake) Dickhoff, Rachel (Nick) Bittner, Elizabeth, Abigail and Joshua Wilke, Dominic, Mary, Annamarie, Katherine and Michael Sieve; 6 great grandchildren, Thea, Weston and Clay Dickhoff, Gideon, Cecilia and Felix Bittner; her sister, Lorna Imbery, of Beecher, IL; and her brother, Ed Volk, of Lakewood, CA.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; five brothers, Michael, Pius, Jerome, Richard and Peter; and four sisters, Cecelia Combs, Anna Ternes, Aurora Dressler and Rose Haegele.

In lieu of flowers memorials are encouraged to be given to the Serra Club, (PO Box 36, Bismarck, ND 58502).  The Serra Club is an organization to support and foster vocations in the Catholic Church.
