Eva Dockter , 96, passed away February 15, 2022, at Miller Pointe, Mandan, ND.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church, Bismarck, ND, with Rev. Thomas R. Marcis Jr officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A livestream of the service will be available on the Zion Lutheran Church Website.
Eva was born June 10, 1925, in Venturia, North Dakota to John and Christina Dockter. She grew up in Ashley and graduated from Ashley High School. After graduation she moved to Bismarck and held various secretarial jobs in Bismarck and Mandan. She moved to Denver, Colorado where she worked for Montgomery Ward and became a Broncos fan. Eva later moved to Billings, Montana to be close to her sister, Elsa. She worked at Deaconess Hospital. In 2002 Eva moved to Bismarck to be near her brother and family.
Eva traveled throughout the United States including Alaska and Hawaii and visited several countries in Europe. She was very fond of light houses, touring many in her travels.
Eva loved to crochet. Friends and family members were blessed with many beautiful blankets, hats, mittens and scarves. She also donated many items to local organizations. Other hobbies were creating scrapbooks documenting historical events and family milestones. She kept herself well informed about current events and was a great conversationalist.
Church was a big part of Eva’s life. In Bismarck she enjoyed being a member of the Zion Lutheran church family. In addition to being an active volunteer at church, she volunteered with a number of other organizations.
Eva is survived by her brother, Gus Dockter; nieces and nephews, Peggy (Dave) Brintnell, Bismarck, Nancy (Bob) Lussenden, Bismarck, Carol (Les) Stadig, Midlothian, VA, Chuck Dockter, New Underwood, SD, Chris Imhoff, Helena, MT, John Imhoff, Ouray, CO, LeRoy (Rose) Haas, Ashley, ND; and nephew-in-law, Milbert Schott, Richland Center, WI; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Elsa Imhoff and Ida Nitschke; her brother, John Dockter; nieces and nephews, Betty Schott, Gordon Dockter, David Dockter and Gwen Dockter.
