Emil Wingenbach, 97, passed away on Wednesday, October 25 in a Bismarck Care Center.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am (CST), Monday, October 30 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Bismarck, ND.  Burial will be on Tuesday, October 31 at the Veteran’s Cemetery at 11:00 am. A livestream of the service will be available on the Church of Corpus Christi’s website.

Visitation will be held on Sunday at Corpus Christi Church from 1-3 pm, with a Rosary/Vigil service to follow at 3:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Emil was born August 13, 1926, near Brisbane, ND on the farm.  He served in the US Army during World War II. When he returned, he married Florence Gustin on October 16, 1951, and raised a family of 13 children. Emil and Florence just celebrated their 72 nd wedding anniversary.

Emil owned and operated a successful dairy farm south of Carson, ND.  Upon retirement they lived in Carson, Dickinson, and finally in Bismarck.

Emil had many interests including serving on the Grand County Farm Bureau Board, Rural Fire Department, and St. Therese Parish Council.  He also loved gardening, CB radios, fishing, hunting, and processing deer meat with his brothers-in-law Leonard and George Gustin.

Emil’s greatest passion in life was studying, learning and practicing his Catholic faith. Emil and Florence traveled to many countries to visit Marion Shrines and other Catholic holy sites. He loved sharing his Catholic Faith with his family and anyone else who was willing to listen.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; sons, Bob (Deb), Pat (Becky), Gary (Laura), Brian (Lori), Jerry, Dan (Candy); and daughters, Debbie (Dwight) Wentz, Annette (John) Meyer, and Paula. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his children Chuck, Arnie, Diana and Andy.
