Ellen Jackson

Ellen Catherine Jackson nee Bartlett, 75, passed away on Tuesday September 10th, 2024, at home after a heroic battle against brain cancer with her loving family by her side. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held, per Ellen’s wishes.

Ellen’s amazing spirit will continue to bring joy and an example to all of achieving a fulfilling life. 

Ellen embraced life with intelligence, unconditional love and support, lifelong learning, a willingness to experience new things while also holding together traditions near and dear to her family and friends

Ellen self-identified as a Mother and Wife, Educator, Reader, Life of the Party, Tennis Fanatic and Beach Bunny. A day with loved ones at Paradise Cove with a good book and a tennis match in the evening is what she now is able to enjoy again in Heaven.

Ellen chose a career as a Teacher and helped thousands of young adults become better people. She received many recognitions throughout her 30+years of teaching but the most amazing recognition was from her students who would stay in contact even years after leaving her classroom.

Ellen was born January 25th, 1949, to Robert and Martha Bartlett in Lafayette, Indiana. She was followed by sisters Joan Bartlett (Newport KY), Christy Bartlett (San Franciso) and brother Robert Bartlett (Cincinnati, OH).

Ellen married Robert Charles Jackson on January 30th, 1971. Their marriage of almost 54 years included living in Illinois, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California and finally North Dakota.

Ellen and Robert have two children, Blaine Jackson (Seattle, WA) and Brooke Dahms (Bismarck, ND).
