October 7, 1932 — October 4, 2024

Ella Rose Derheim, 91, Regan ND, passed away October 4, 2024 at her daughter’s home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at First Assembly of God Church, 319 Borchardt Ave Underwood, ND. Burial will follow at the Underwood Cemetery.

Ella was born October 7, 1932 to Theodore and Emma (Schwede) Borchardt. She was the oldest of two children born in and raised in the Rock House in Underwood, ND. She enjoyed walking and riding bike to her grandpa and grandma Borchardt’s farm to help with chores.

She met Robert Edwards and they married and had three children: Bonnie, David and Herman. Robert and Ella divorced. She then answered a phone call and met Walter Derheim. They married and she gained a daughter, Janis and son, Ronnie. Together, Walter and Ella had three children: Kenyon, Larry and Diane. So needless to say her occupation was “Mom” and she was the best!!

Summers filled with camping and fishing and road trips to Underwood to fill the Rock House with her family.

She loved cooking, canning and gardening. She most of all loved all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Ella lived a very full life, just three days shy of her 92nd birthday.

She will be missed by everyone she knew, especially her children, Bonnie Hogue of Mandan ND, David (Angie) Edwards of the Rock House Underwood ND, Herman Edwards of Bismarck ND, Kenyon Derheim of Bismarck ND, Larry Derheim of Bismarck ND, Diane (Mark) Skwarok of Regan ND; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren with one on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.
