Eleanor Akidakis

Eleanor Lue Akidakis, 93, Bismarck, died February 27, 2025. A committal service will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, where her husband is interred.

Eleanor was born on October 25, 1931 at Dodge to Theo and Amelia (Lindemann) Schields. She received her high school education in Halliday and graduated from Dickinson State University. Eleanor continued her education at NDSU, where she was an active member of Phi Mu Sorority. 

She married Clifford E. Akidakis from Beulah in 1957 at Zion Lutheran Church in Beulah. Mrs. Akidakis’ husband passed away in 1984. 

Cliff and Eleanor made their home in St. Paul, Minnesota where Cliff was employed as a civil engineer. Eleanor taught school for twenty years and belonged to several educational organizations. They were members of Grace Lutheran Church. 

Eleanor is survived by one sister-in-law, Charlotte Schields of Dickinson, ND. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Richard Schields, Ted Schields and Ray Schields; five sisters, Tillie Sandau, Edna Raber, Hertha Schields, Irene Brandtner, Hilda Miller; four brothers-in-law, Albin Sandau, Ernie Raber, Deniss Brandtner and Leo Miller and sister-in-law, Leona Schields.
