ELAINE HUBER

Elaine Huber passed away on May 23, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center.  Memorial services and celebration of Elaine’s life will be held on Thursday, May 30th at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 413 East Ave. D, Bismarck.

Elaine was born in 1928, recently celebrating her 91st Birthday on May 15th.    She was born in Halliday, the daughter of Gothart and Helen Miller.  She attended schools in Halliday.

Elaine was united in marriage to Arthur A. Huber on November 11, 1945 and they began operating the family farm north of Dodge.  Art’s younger brother, Roland, also grew up on the homestead and was almost a surrogate son throughout her long life. After many years, their son, Dennis was born on February 17, 1955 and the family moved to Bismarck in 1956 and welcomed second son, Jeff, a few years later.  They were proud to share the same May 15th birthdate.

Elaine was a profound German cook, baker and meticulous homemaker throughout her life.  She loved reading her Bible daily and being a Christian example to all around her.  Her homemaking skills made life heaven on earth for her family while Art built his electrical contracting firm, Becker & Huber Electric; retiring at age 62.  They then enjoyed traveling throughout the country, camping and going on numerous fishing trips with their friends.

Elaine’s family and 5 grandchildren were always special to the end of her life.  She also was thrilled to welcome 3 great grandchildren and almost a 4th (great grandson) that is expected in early July.

Elaine is survived by her sons, Dennis and Jeff, Bismarck, ND;  her grandchildren Alexander Huber (Jana Millner), Bismarck; Kate Huber, Corvallis, Oregon; Zachary (Mary) Huber, Bismarck;  Aaron Huber,  and Kristen Huber, Minneapolis, MN; great grandchildren, Sloane Winterberg, Tobit Huber, Magdalene Huber, all of Bismarck and brother Rodney (Lana) Miller, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Art on October 7, 2007 after almost 62 years of marriage; parents, sister Eleanor, and brothers, Elmer and Hilbert.

Special thanks go out to niece Diane (Rod) Bender and brother-in-law Roland Huber for their devotion and tireless hours of love and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to:  Zion Lutheran Foundation, 413 East Ave. D, Bismarck, ND  58501  (701) 223-8286
