Curt Beyer, 61, Bismarck, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2019, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2, at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church..
Curt Beyer, son of Trevor and Viola (Gourneau) Beyer, was born April 14, 1957 in Bottineau, ND. He graduated from Bottineau High School in 1975. From there he went on to attended college and play basketball for the University of Mary in Bismarck. After college, he went to work for the Coyote Power Plant in Beulah and later MDU Resources in Bismarck for 35 years, recently retiring.
Much of Curt's earlier days revolved around his love of basketball. Playing on the various teams, he became lifelong friends with several of his teammates. In 2012, he was part of a team that was inducted into the Mary Marauders Hall of Fame (1976-77 & 1977-78 Men's Basketball Team). Later on, he found much enjoyment from watching and attending professional sports, especially the Chicago Bears. Curt was a very large man in stature and personality, only rivaled by that of his generosity and happy demeanor. He had a great memory and a fond knack of remembering each person's name he came across. His large presence will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his brother Jeff (Betty) of Bottineau; nephews Jon (Molly) Beyer of Bottineau, Adam (Brooke) Beyer of Bottineau, Justin (Tami) Beyer of Driscoll; nieces Sarah (J.R.) Mihalek of Ashland, WI and Andrea Beyer of Minot. Great-Nieces Elle & Mila Beyer of Bottineau.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Greg and parents, Trevor and Viola Beyer.
