Colleen Patrick

Colleen Joyce Patrick, 65, Wilton, ND passed away November 28, 2024, Thanksgiving night at her home following a long illness. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 4 at 2pm at the Bismarck Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial at Regan Cemetery to be postponed until the spring.

Colleen was born New Year’s Eve 1958 to Alden and Mildred (Maloney) Backman in Bismarck, ND. She was the fourth of five children and spent her childhood in Regan. She graduated high school in Bismarck. Colleen met Kevin Patrick, Wilton, in 1975 and the couple married on June 9, 1978.

She worked as a secretary for Basin Electric and Dan’s Supermarket, then managed the family farm northwest of Wilton for over 40 years. She dedicated her life to her husband, two sons, four grandchildren, and extensive family. She enjoyed decorating, especially during the holidays, and is remembered for her love of fun and bright laughter.

She is survived by her husband Kevin, Wilton; two sons and four grandchildren, Brett (Rebecca) Patrick, Amelia and John, Wilton; Chris (Meridyth) Patrick, Colin and Freida, Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Jean (Darrel) Gunsch, Bismarck; Ronda (Terry) Berg, Bismarck; one brother Rod (Karen) Backman, Bismarck; three sisters-in-law, Peggy Backman, Mandan; Diane Brown, Sublimity, OR; Wendy Allan, Gurnee, IL; two stepbrothers, Dan (Verna) Sundquist, CA; Marc (Ester) Sundquist, Regan; two stepsisters, Mary (Dan) Chin, Kalispell, MT; Lois Sundquist, Regan; and many nieces and nephews.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Lee Sundquist; brother, William “Bill” Backman; and two stepbrothers, David Sundquist and Paul Sundquist.
