Cody J. Bertch passed away peacefully with his family and friends by his side on January 25, 2019 in Bismarck at the age of 43. Services will be held Friday, February 1, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bismarck Funeral Home. Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to services.
Cody was born to Jim and Alice Bertch on January 14, 1976 in Hettinger, ND. He grew up as the middle child of three and graduated from Carson High School in 1994. On November 22, 1999 Cody bought his first farm by Sterling and started farming on his own. Farming was his passion ever since he was a little boy. Cody was a loving father, son, brother and friend. He had two sons Colton and Cannon. Cody loved to teach them about farming. They also spent countless hours hunting and fishing together waiting for that “big one” to come along. Cody would enjoy summers up at Lake Sakakawea fishing and camping with his family. Part of his daily routine was talking with his Mom and having a good cup of coffee with her. His sons brought joy and happiness to his life every day even when they were apart.
Cody will be missed by many good friends and his family. He is survived by his sons Colton and Cannon of Bismarck; his parents Jim and Alice Bertch; sister, Chasidy (Jerad) Felchle and nieces, Abbygail and Taylor all of Bismarck; brother, Corbin Bertch and nephew, Traden, Mandan; loving friend Sandy, Bismarck; and his faithful four legged companion, Bella.
Cody was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his best buddy and faithful dog Trigger.
