Clara H. Lisko, 89, Bismarck, died Friday, December 7, 2018 at a Bismarck hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at Church of the Ascension, Bismarck. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the start of the service at the church.
Clara H. Hanel was born April 4, 1929 to Anton and Mary (Hushka) Hanel in Belfield, ND. She attended grade school in South Heart, ND and high school in Dickinson.
She started working at Northwestern Bell Telephone in 1948 and retired from AT&T in 1988. She married Theodore A. Lisko, June 7, 1949 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson.
Clara was active in several organizations which included Catholic Daughters Court 323 in Dickinson, Circle of friends at Ascension and Telephone Pioneers of America. She did volunteer work at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center. Clara loved to travel and did for 37 years with best friend Mary Hayes.
Clara is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins; her Godchild George Gillies and his daughter Olivia Gillies; and best friend, Mary Hayes.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ted Lisko; her parents; an infant brother; sister Gladys (Vince) Fisher.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Church of the Ascension in Bismarck or Camp Grassick in Dawson.
