Bruce Tesky, 70, of Lincoln, passed away on September 5, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center due to complications from an aortic aneurysm rupture, with his family at his side.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Bismarck Funeral Home followed by a celebration of life reception at theTumbleweed Bar & Grill in Lincoln.
Bruce was born on October 27, 1953 to Theodore “Ted" and Eldora Tesky, in Hazen, ND. Bruce grew up in Bismarck graduating from Bismarck High School in 1971. He married his high school sweetheart, Susan Dosch, on March 1, 1974 and they had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. They had two daughters; Shannon and Crystal.
After attending college in Wahpeton and graduating in 1973 as an auto mechanic, Bruce went on to work for Corwin Churchill selling appliances while waiting for a mechanic position to open. During this time Bruce learned he was a natural salesman and continued in sales up until his death. Bruce and 4 other co-workers left Corwin Churchill and started their own company, Five Star Appliances in Bismarck and Mandan. Bruce was a great salesman from selling appliances at Five Star, to electronics at JCPenneys and selling advertisement spots for a local radio station in the 80s, to working at Mid-American Research Chemical Corporation (MARC) for the last 35 years. He enjoyed his career with MARC during his tenure saying it didn’t feel like work but that his long time customers were more like friends he enjoyed visiting.
Bruce enjoyed camping with friends, playing darts, a tall cold beer, classic cars, playing “the marble” game and other games, and traveling. Bruce had been greatly looking forward to a scheduled trip to Ireland in mid-September. Bruce was a member of the Eagles Club and the Moose Club.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Sue Tesky; daughters, Shannon Tesky (& Mario) and Crystal (Cody) Harrington; grandchildren, Nora and Wyatt Harrington; brother, Ross Tesky; father-in-law, Herman Dosch; brothers-in-law, Mickey (Karla) Dosch, Danny (Kelley) Dosch, Kevin (Jane) Dosch and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Eldora; mother-in-law, Cecelia Dosch; nephew, Mathew Asbridge and his Irish Setter, Fred.
