Bonnie was born on Feb. 19, 1962, as the youngest of six children born to John K. and Evelyn Krebs, raised in New England, ND. She married John Zuelke in September of 1983 and together had two beautiful daughters, Shannon Rose and Kellye Jeanne. The girls and their families were the light and pride of her life.
Bonnie’s faith in God was the anchor in her life. She shared that faith with her family and friends by living it, showing mercy and love. Bonnie had a quick smile, was humble, generous, patient, kind, honest, hard-working and most of all, loving. She was a practical joker. She had a tremendously strong work ethic and great sense of integrity, extremely conscientious, expecting the same from others. Giving up was never a choice in any challenge, never doing a less than complete and perfect job. She was fiercely loyal to family and friends. Bonnie was a constant giver, not expecting anything in return and she taught us all to forgive by her example. She endured many trials in her life but kept the faith, kept fighting back, kept trying to learn and improve her life and home and used her experiences to kindly offer support and counsel to others struggling. Her strength of spirit carried her through to the end. She often took on jobs and projects bigger than her small body should have and tackled them with sheer determination. Bonnie took great pride in all she accomplished. She returned to DSU when her girls were young to earn her Bachelor of Science, an accomplishment she was very proud of. Bonnie had a close connection with God’s creation. Her yard was groomed to perfection and had the softest lawn for kids and pets to enjoy, tended the most beautiful lilies, poppies, bleeding hearts and peonies. Her yard was her haven of peace. Bonnie tenderly cared for many stray animals and her pets held a special place in her life, dogs always traveling with her. She thrived on giving and serving others and many of those she served became lifelong friends. She was so attentive to others’ needs, ignoring her own. Her loving heart touched so many and we are confident she will continue to advocate for us all from her eternal home.
Those celebrating Bonnie’s crossing into everlasting life include her two daughters, Shannon (Brett) Baker, Kellye (Brock) Ballweber, grandchildren, Liam Ballweber, Ruby Baker and Bo Baker, brothers, Fr. Bruce Krebs, Brian Krebs, Bernie (Jane) Krebs and sister Brenda Todd and so many friends.
