Andrew “Andy” Baltzar Feist Jr. passed away on January 30, 2023, at Sanford Medical Hospital at the age of 90. He had been living at St Gabriel’s community in Bismarck for the last 5 years.  Mass of Christian burial will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Bismarck on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.  The service will be livestreamed on the church website.  Immediately following will be the burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery followed by a luncheon at Corpus Christi.

Any was born April 3, 1932, in Bowdle, South Dakota to Andrew and Caroline Feist. He worked on the family farm until he graduated in 1950. He moved to New England North Dakota where he met Rose Schmitt and they were married on November 24, 1952, and remained married for 46 years until her passing in 1999.

Andy had many different jobs over the years from owning restaurants, a 7-11 store, managing storage units and different apartment housing in Minneapolis and Bismarck. After Rose passed away Andy moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota and lived there for 18 years.

Andy loved bowling, shuffleboard, pool, board games and all card games.  He became very good at bridge and won a few tournaments.

Andy is survived by his nine children, Carla (Scott) Massie, Junction TX, Dale (LaDonna) Feist, Burnsville MN, Gary (Annie) Feist, Glendive MT, Jeanne Lackey, Kerrville TX, Don Feist, Bismarck, Tom Feist, Bismarck, Nancy Feist, Junction TX, Kathy (Joe) Graham, St. Cloud MN, and Jim (Denise) Feist, Bismarck; Thirteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and special friend Lorretta Abeln.

Andy was preceded in death by his wife Rose, his brother Vince and sisters Maryanne and Virginia.
