Andre S. Grubb, 68, died on January 31, 2025. He was born in Bismarck, North Dakota on April 23, 1956, the fourth child of Al and Shirley Grubb. He moved with his family to Ohio, Minnesota, and eventually back to Bismarck.
He was married to Terri Haegele and they had five children. Throughout his life he worked various construction jobs and excelled as a painter and drywall finisher. In his spare time he enjoyed collecting coins and other collectible items, finding treasurers at garage sales and pawn shops. He was always keeping busy with projects, and was excellent at refinishing old furniture.
Andre had a great sense of humor and a kind heart. However, he struggled with addiction throughout his life. Although he received addiction treatment at various times in his life, he was never able to overcome the addictions that seemed to control his life and limit his ability to work and maintain relationships with those closest to him. His addictions made his life difficult, but he had a special relationship with his niece and nephew, Casey (Grubb) and Tom Blunt who always cared for him and watched over him. He enjoyed spending time with Tom and Casey’s two boys and enjoyed fishing with them and Tom. In recent months his health began to deteriorate, likely the result of his long-term addictions. He died at his home of natural causes.
He is survived by his five children, Matthew, Levi, Chad, Katie, Nicholas; four siblings: Kris (Grubb) Morrissette, Bismarck; Al Grubb, Jr., Washington Court House, Ohio; Corey Grubb, Eagle River Alaska; Gayle (Grubb) Jarman, Peever, South Dakota; and 1 half-brother, Richard Schundelmier, Columbus, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Al and Shirley Grubb; and his brother, Steve Grubb.
