Alvina Miller

September 7, 1931 — October 26, 2024

Alvina Olive Miller, 93, of Tuttle, ND passed away in her home on Oct. 26, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Goodrich, ND followed by burial at the Tuttle Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday at the Bismarck Funeral Home, with a prayer service starting at 7 pm. Prior to the funeral service on Friday, there will be another visitation opportunity starting at 9 am. 

Alvina was born on Sept. 7, 1931 to Christ and Anna (Anderson) Hetletvedt in Tuttle, ND. She graduated from Tuttle High School in 1949 and prior to her marriage, she worked for many years at the Kreminetsky grocery store in Tuttle, ND. 

She married Bert J. Miller on May 29, 1953. After their marriage she was a working mother raising 9 children. Bert passed away in April 1999. 

Alvina enjoyed bowling, sewing/embroidery, yard work, visiting with friends and relatives and was active in all of her children’s activities through the school PTA. 

She is survived by 5 daughters, Beverly (Sam Shaoul) Miller, DiAnn (Mark) Phelps, Valerie (Frank) Coleman, Rhonda (Mike) Braun, Lucinda (Dean) Engen; 4 sons, Rodney (Linda) Miller, Jeffrey (Rita) Miller, Marlyn (Sharrell ) Miller, Aaron (Lynne) Miller; 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert; her daughter, Lori Avon Miller; her parents, Christ and Anna Hetletvedt; her mother and father-in-law, Martin and Magdalena Miller, and all of the Hetletvedt/Miller brothers and sisters. 

Memorials in honor of Alvina may be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital.
